Seat storage
The front-passenger seat in The Jeep®Cherokee folds flat and offers hidden, in-seat storage by flipping up the passenger seat cushion. Clever (not available with Sport).
Dash storage
A refined, covered top bin is located above the center stack on top of the instrument panel for secured storage of items such as a wallet or phone.

2.4L TigerShark Petrol Engine
This efficient performer arrives in the all-new Cherokee. From its fully isolated aluminium head cover with an integrated oil separation system, to its high-pressure, die-cast aluminium block, the new TigerShark engine was engineered to deliver a quiet and refined performance. Plus, for those with dreams of heading for aggressive off-road destinations, it takes its 130 kW and 229 Nm of torque. (Only available on Sport).
3.2L V6 VVT Pentastar Engine
This new workhorse is designed to deliver the kind of power needed to tackle off-road elements and support all-weather travel on any terrain. Demanding drivers will appreciate its 200 kW and 316 Nm of torque. This engine's pedigree includes the celebrated 3.6 Pentastar V6 engine, named one of Ward's 10 Best Engines three years running. (Not available on Sport).
A highly-advanced 4X4 System
The innovative rear axle disconnect feature only engages 4x4 when necessary for greatly improved fuel efficiency. The All-New Cherokee features three innovative 4x4 systems: the Jeep®Active Drive I 4x4 system with single-speed transfer case, or the Jeep® Active Drive II 4x4 system with low-range and neutral setting, or the Trailhawk's advanced Active Drive Lock 4x4 system with 4-Low and rear locker.
New nine-speed automatic transmission
It's all about driving comfort, refinement and efficiency. Appropriate shift modes for the 9-speed transmission are determined by intelligent software that monitors engine torque and kick-down, acceleration and road grade changes. (9-speed automatic transmission standard across the range)
Selec-Terrain® all-weather warrior.
Legendary Jeep® brand on- and off-road capability improves with the Selec-Terrain®traction control system with up to five customized settings: Auto, Snow, Sport, Sand/Mud and Rock modes. This innovative system provides excellent 4x4 performance for nearly any road or weather condition (Only available on 4x4 models. Rock only available on Trailhawk)

The new Cherokee has over 70 available Safety & Security features including: seven airbags with full-length side-curtain & side thorax airbags as standard on all models. New ParkSense® Parallel & Perpendicular Front & Rear Park Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Path Detection with dual radar sensors to monitor driver blind spots, new LaneSense™ Lane Departure Warning, and new Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go (optional on Limited and Trailhawk).
